0.17.17-.18 versions

We've updated the component used for My Roles and a role's goals. Now the drag-n-drop is much smoother and nicer. The long-click context menu has been moved to popup menu using 3-dots. And the layout widened a bit.

There were several bugs in the update. One of them was for Android 4.x users - the bug is caused by update in the development library provided by google. Thanks to you, we've learned about it quickly from your reports. For know, until google fixes it, we've reverted to previous version of the library. It does not anyhow affect the app.

Another bug is Android 2.x users - again, something broke in the update library and it failed on list holding pages. We've added a workaround in that part for Android 2.x version users and now waiting for update in libraries.

If you still face these bugs or know about others that don't let you work, please, we'd be grateful if you wrote us here or on email. Thank you!

  1. I have found that I cannot move a goal to accomplishment. The goal has no incomplete activities but program says it does.

    1. Hi Carolinne, have you solved your issue? Sometimes it may be the case that one of your actions was a checklist and you modified it to simple action. Then, previous subactions, if any, won't be seen. But, you'll still won't be able to delete the action/goal. This is so that you don't lose any information accidentally.

  2. Recurrence: is there a way to create an action to be every 3 days?

  3. Is there any plan to create a desktop version, or allow access via a login sight, similar to Evernote? (Mobile and desktop apps, and web login) I love the app, but I do the majority of my work on the computer. I'd love to be able to fully integrate the program with my daily life.

    1. I'd like to echo this! It would be very helpful to have a site or even Windows App.

    2. Me too! I'd love to see a web interface or better yet, a desktop version of the app.

I find this app to be one of the best and most well-thought productivity apps out there. It does focus on applicability and practicality which are user-friendly, way more than a lot of other "free-demo-but-actually-pay-to-use-and-win" apps. Thank you very much developer! :)

  4. Hi,

Since the update, I can no longer assign a goal to the "to" field on the action 4x4 "First things first" screen.

    --> "First things first" --> "Quick add action" --> {CLICK [added action]} --> {CLICK ["open action" mini box]} --> "To"

Normally I would see "goal unset" and a list of goals to set (pulled from my roles). However, after last update, I see "goal unset" and no list of goals to assign. A long press of an action's assigned role also brings up an empty list.

Since the 4x4 screen is the primary way I add actions, it's a little inconvenient that I cannot associate them with a goal any longer.

I would like to give you kudos for this app. It is a very good app. Once you understand the method it works very well. It is my favorite productivity app.

I hope I gave you enough information to repeat the problem that I'm having. I'm sure this is a transient bug.

Tech info: I am using a ZTE model Z936L, android version 4.4.4 (KitKat)

    Sincerely,

    J

P.S. Even with the new "glitches" I will continue to use the app nearly every day. I really like the new "My roles" layout and functionality. Have a great day.

    1. I just realized that the goals are actually there. There is just about 10 lines of space between each of them and between "goal unset" and the first one. This made it appear that the list was empty. I have since found them, but, I believe others would think the list was empty too. It is a lot of space between objects on the list. Regards.

    2. Hi, there! Thanks for spending your time on feedback and trying to help us and others. Yes, there was this bug and frankly it was somewhat unexpected for us, too. It happened because google developers have slightly changed the behavior of one of the components we use. It has been fixed since, please, update to the latest version, 0.17.20.

    3. Google store reports that I have the latest version. I do not know how to check the app itself. The problem persists on my device.

    4. JA X, sorry, my bad! Just checked on the latest version - we've fixed it in another place but seemed to miss this one particular. Will be after it and have the fix in the next update. Again, thanks a lot for pointing the problem, we thought we've dealt with it.

  5. Hi! First of all: Thanks for the great app, I really appreciate the effort and where the app is heading - awesome! As JA X pointed out, there's a lot of space in between the goals so - on a first glance - it seems as if they are gone. Thanks for working on a fix for the next update!
I don't know if this is somehow related, but I seem to be unable to drag the roles around. Is there any kind of special command one has to issue to get that feature? When I press the "three dots" at the right of the role, I only get a "delete"-option. Long pressing a role doesn't do anything - except for opening the role upon release. Do I miss anything?

Long story short: Keep up the great work! It's such a great product you created!

    1. Hi, thank you! Can't you drag by the 3-dots, as in the picture above? Don't long-click or click, just put your finger on them and drag. Doesn't work?

    2. Oh, I can.. I have to be very careful and precise with the placement of the finger tip, what makes it a little cumbersome, but it works. Sorry for pointing out a problem, that ain't there...

    3. Since it's hard for you to drag-n-drop, then it is a problem, nothing to be sorry of :). We tried to make it less difficult to drag, i.e., make it so that you don't have to be that precise. But, it may vary depending on screen resolution, we think. Can you give any details about your screen size and/or density? Or, just the phone model so we look it up on google?

    4. It's the BlackBerry Priv - and I guess it's due to the curved sides of the display. Thanks for your help!

  6. Sorry for the unrelated comment, but I wasn't sure where to ask these questions.

    1. Is there a way to edit checklist items?
    2. Is there a way for subtasks of projects and checklists to reset when they're under a recurring task/project? It would be nice for them to be unchecked on the next recurrence.

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Katie,

      1. To edit a checklist item, click on it - it will appear in the input box. Edit it and press the 'check' button to add it - it will update the original checklist item.
      2. No, this is a known issue we haven't invented how to easily implement, yet.

  7. Hi. Thanks for the great app! I've not yet read Stephen Covey's '7 Habits' but have been following the work of Brendon Burchard re achievement. Although Brendon's stuff includes a few more ideas for personal development, this app is the closest one I can find to keep me on track with nearly all of what I'm learning. :) (The extra bits can go in the 'Notes, Thoughts, Ideas' section!)

The thing that I'd like to see in the app is a menu option to view all the goals in one place, rather than having to view via each role individually (or is there a way of doing this I haven't figured out yet?).

Apart from that, I'd also like to support the calls for a desktop version that syncs with the app (I can type much faster on the laptop!!).

    Thanks

  8. I can't really addrole or save the role

  9. Great app. I'd love to be able to sort day's task list in preferred order, just like the goals and roles list.
