So, your app, "My Effectiveness" is basically the most amazing thing I've ever seen, and it's like you reached into my brain and put together about 85% of my idea of the perfect task management app.
But... I need a desktop version. It's how I work. I need the large screen space to see and operate most effectively. For my desktop, I'm using Todoist at this point. Honestly, It's the best one I've seen apart from yours, but yours doesn't have a desktop version. :(
Is there any way I can donate, or help in any way to help make this happen? I'd donate to a crowdfunding project, and spread the word like crazy. I just...
Seriously, All of the work and effort i've I've done to organize myself and prioritize my life and all the various different things i have to pay attention to and give energy to... very early on, in my mind, i envisioned an app very much like My Effectiveness, and nothing like it existed. As time went on and I kept thinking more and more what my perfect app would be like, it began to look even more like the actual specifics i eventually found in My Effectiveness.
I'm not one for hyperbole, but I'm very tempted to say that I would be willing to do ANYTHING to get a Desktop or Web version of this. (I did try emulating Android on my desktop and running it on that, but that was a terrible experience in lots of ways).
Is there any kind of good news or hope you can offer me in this regard?
I just ran into My Effectiveness and am still learning about it. It looks promising, but I have to second this comment from Leo. I can't be pecking at my tiny phone keyboard to put in the 1200 or so tasks that I have in my current task management system to switch over to My Effectiveness. I MUST have a keyboard that I can actually use effectively, which means if your app doesn't have a desktop version, you're just not going to get me on board. Something to think about as you consider how to expand your market share.
Anon, from what I've found, There are basically two ways to get around this. Andyroid android emulator, or Bluestacks android emulator.
They're huge system hogs on my computer, and take a long time to boot up for me, but they may be faster for someone with a faster computer.
I prefer andyroid over bluestacks because it's more versatile and less buggy, but they are both the same level of system hoggy for me. And it's really just emulating an android device on your computer, so you have to get used to interacting as if your mouse is your touch, which is more annoying than it sounds.
Hi, I actually have had your app for quite some time. I haven't used it as much because there is no desktop version. It makes it difficult for me. I tried the emulators as well and that is really the only reason I got back into your app.
Your app is by far the best, as I have tried more than several apps, free and paid.
So as I was just checking up to see if maybe you came out with a desktop or browser based version I thought I would add to these comments. I too, would love to see a browser based version or desktop version. Ideally I would prefer a browser based version, which I think would be cheaper and easier to implement across the boards instead of one of Windows and Macs, etc. If you do it you should charge at least something to cover at least the cost of the site.
I would gladly pay a fee and while I can't actually help build the web based version of the app, I can defnitely help or build the visual presentation part of the site. I have 7+ years in web development and would be glad to help.
Thank you for the feedback and sorry for replying so late. Emulators really suck. They suck in development, thus I can imagine how do they suck in use. We are trying to work hard on the web version. Sorry for delaying it for so long.
I love the fact that your app incorporates so many important productivity concepts. I would like to make the switch to My Effectiveness (from Todoist) but can't see doing so without a desktop/browser version as doing so would simply be too arduous for me. The time cost associated with switching will be significant. It doesn't need to be made worse by not being able to type at a keyboard. Please let me know when a desktop/browser version is available. Keep up the great work & thank you.
I really love your app but the other day I entered something an now my 'first things first' section has completely disappeared except for in my weekly plan, how can I get everything back?
Hi, I've been looking in the application to see if I could put in Spanish but I have not found. Please tell me where is the option of placing it in Spanish and if there is not matching the sooner
Hi, I'm a fairly new user of "My Effectiveness" and I really adore it, it has almost everything I need and since I'm in a pretty confusing and vague period right now it really helps me to better understand what I need and want to be doing. I just have one question - are you planning on making a Google Tasks/Google Cal/Wunderlist sync or integration? Such addition would be amazing because I'm currently using Google Cal as my calendar and Wunderlist for task management (and I arranged a sync between Wunderlist and GTasks so it can all show up neatly on the Google Cal desktop interface) and so I don't have any current use to the action/task management part of your app and use it only as a "guiding journal" of sort. If you were to add a Google App integration within the app it would really really help me, I'd be able to replace Wunderlist with it and love it forever!
Great app! It would be great if the calendar was an hybrid: habits/tasks/goals/tracker + events/appointments/planner + to-do-list... and maybe to add also "week/monthly goals" in addition to roles/goals/daily tasks!
In the calendar may be displayed: * The daily/weekly/mothly tasks and routines to be done to achieve the goals, [e.g. TimeTune Schedule Planner App] or to build a new habit [e.g. HabitBull App, or 7 Weeks App]. * Events and appointments (related or NOT related to goals), [e.g. To-Do Calendar Planner App]. * Actions to be taken periodically (not related to goals): daily/weekly/mothly routines [e.g. Chore Checklist App].
And in the notes could be added a sort of to-do-list: * Things I want to do/buy, but without a specific deadline (tick when done), [e.g. Simplest Checklist App].
And with the pomodoro timer you can get inspired by apps like Jiffy Time Tracker, or Timesheet Time Tracker.
I have to agree. This is a fabulous app with no compare on IOS. You could charge a nice bit of money for a cloud platform with Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac OS front ends.

I'd love to use your app which is exactly what I need and seems to me the best on the market for the moment, BUT as long as there is no desktop version and sync with google calendar and google task I will not go for it. It's a lot of encoding and typing and not quick anoth on the mobile phone. What is sad, is that I need it now, so I will have to choose another system, probably Todoist, and once I encoded everything there, it will take so much time to re-encode it on your app when your desktop version is ready. I would happily help finance the development through crowdfunding, or pay a fee for this fabulous app. Can you please say when the desktopversion will approximatly be ready (in 1, 2 ,3 months, this year, next year...?). I agree, the world needs this app and thank you for all the work already done.
Very hard to answer your question, because we promised many times but never made the dates. I'll be very optimistic if I say 'in 3 months', but we'll try to have something in this period.

DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI really love your app but the other day I entered something an now my 'first things first' section has completely disappeared except for in my weekly plan, how can I get everything back?
have you managed to restore your actions?
DeleteMy first things first content dissappeared, and won't get back in there.
ReplyDeleteElisabeth, have you managed to find the actions?

We have those plans for long, but not enough resources to build the app. We are trying hard to change this, but sometimes it is really hard :)
DeleteAny plans for an iPhone version?
ReplyDeleteAny plans for an iPhone version?
ReplyDeleteNot until a web version is out and working.
DeleteAre you going to prepare Web / Desktop version?
ReplyDeleteI would love it if there is a desktop version, I second most people here's comments.
ReplyDeleteGreat app! It would be great if the calendar was an hybrid: habits/tasks/goals/tracker + events/appointments/planner + to-do-list... and maybe to add also "week/monthly goals" in addition to roles/goals/daily tasks!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible creating sub-goals?
ReplyDeleteFor example one of my goals is "move out and live on my own"
But first I have to "find a more profitable job"
So in my daily tasks I can write "find a new job" xD
Other ideas...
ReplyDeleteIn the calendar may be displayed:
* The daily/weekly/mothly tasks and routines to be done to achieve the goals, [e.g. TimeTune Schedule Planner App] or to build a new habit [e.g. HabitBull App, or 7 Weeks App].

* Actions to be taken periodically (not related to goals): daily/weekly/mothly routines [e.g. Chore Checklist App].
And in the notes could be added a sort of to-do-list:

Just some random ideas
What do you reccommend me to do if one task influences two or more goals in different roles?
ReplyDeleteJust pick any one of them and do it inside that goal/role.
DeleteI have to agree. This is a fabulous app with no compare on IOS. You could charge a nice bit of money for a cloud platform with Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac OS front ends.

ReplyDeletecompletely agree w/ Luca - I would like to be able to enter ToDo Items by category on a web portal from a Desktop/Laptop.
ReplyDeletedo you guys have a tutorial as to how to use this app, thanks, Christina
