Workodoro pause + more

The workodoro timer is aimed at helping you concentrate better on the work. It's a popular technique and is to many users very effective to overcome the procrastination urges. It consists of work periods of usually 25 minutes (adjustable) interleaved with break periods of around 5 minutes (also adjustable). The idea is to stay focused during the 25 minutes and then have rest during the breaks. It's said to help get into the so-called focused mode during working, overcome procrastination, better learn and do the work.

But often interruptions are inevitable - some short but urgent call, someone asks you something, etc - some actions that you have to react to. If you stop the work timer and start it over again, it'll break the smooth process. That's why we've added the 'Pause' function.

If you press the pause button during the work period, it will pause the timer for 1 minute so you finish with your interruption, then will return to the minutes remained in your work period. We think it will let you keep the idea in your brain that the work process is on, thus you don't switch the contexts and then have hard time to return back.

You can pause once only during a work period, and during a break period pausing seems not needed.

Also in the current update, as said before, trying some ads in the app, only on the one screen now. And some UI/UX changes.

  3. I just started using your app and it seems pretty cool!
Sorry, I was not able to find a good place for feature requests, I'll just ask it here.. is there anyway you can add background sounds and stuff along with your cool workodoro settings? that would really help with productivity!
something like if you can integrate with apps like "Rain Sound" that would be cool as well.. Thanks!

    1. Thanks for the suggestion, Kyu! It sounds interesting, but there's one problem we foresee - it might drain the battery quickly. We'll think about it.

    2. Aah, good point.. But if it's a simple implementation and I am sure many productivity enthusiasts will be happy to beta-test it for performance drains :D

I haven't used the app enough, but I had another suggestion on kind-of having a GettingThingsDone-esq Actionable items workflow.. the more I use the existing workflow I may be able to formulate my point better.

Thanks for the reply Andtek! great job with the app :)

  4. Hi thanks for creating such a great time management app! It really helps to organise my daily tasks and keep my life organised.

Just a suggestion, would it be possible to add in a feature to display all the tasks that are overdue, and perhaps allow the user to reschedule the task?

    1. Hi Paulius, thanks for the suggestion! On which page do you think it would be nice to have it - week plan or FTF/Actions?

  7. Please, add the background sound option. The battery issue would be understood for those that need the feature (in my case, I would plug in the charger if neccesary).
Another proposal: The pause button added in the notification

  9. As Nico said just above, it is a necessity to have the alarm ringing even if the phone screen is switched off, as it is likely to Always be the case for any period longer than… 1 minute. I need my phone to ring to tell me that the period has expired! I guess that that's what you call "background sound option", please, addi it!

    Cheers

    1. Fun fact: sometimes, the alarm DOES ring, but later then the set time (eg: I just tested a 1minute period length, turned the screen off, and it did ringed, but after 3 minutes instead of 3...)
