Purchases

Sorry for the long silence and no new updates in the app - we have been pretty busy with other stuff in our lives. With this update we are trying to start being back on track and more focused on development, let's see how it goes :).

In the currently rolling out update we are trying to add ability to make purchases in-app. There's only one option now - 1 month ad-free access. Though we try to show as few ads as possible to make any sense, many people were complaining about them and asked for options. Hope this would be helpful.

Since this is a complex and new feature, we'd be very grateful for any feedback, especially about problems/errors/misunderstandings.

  1. Hi,
I absolutely have no problem with the ads as long as you keep both the premium version and the ad supported version at par.
I'm also okay if you want to go for a subscription based business model as long as you keep on adding features or there are some services for which you also need to pay periodically.
I'd suggest to open in app donations who can't afford the subscription but are still grateful for this nice app and want to contribute.
Also, for heavy users you can also open an annual subscription at some discounted rate than the monthly subscription.
Best of luck & keep up the good work. I used to wonder how such a good app has been offered for free all these years.

  2. Hi,
I am one of those who complained. Usually adds are no problem, but in this case it is about effectiveness. In that special case, I don't want adds, that distract me.
That is also the reason, why I am back on using the app for now, after purchasing an adfree month. This is still, as far as I know, the best app regarding the implentation of covey's "principles". And I have tried a lot on android...
After all this is only my humble opinion. I am glad you continue development and I appreciate your efforts...
    Cheers.

  3. I would purchase ad free and cheer the developer multiple times if you would publish a list of intents for this awesome app!

  4. I would prefer a one time payment. The number of apps in the Google Play store that "were once great but now, with new releases, are rubbish, slow, broken, AND PAID FOR" is ridiculous. If you could release a version with a one off payment, you'd have my vote (and money!). There's a piece of software I used to buy which had the following cost model: Buy the software and get bug-fixes free for that version (1.00, 1.01, 1.03). Occasionally, a reasonably major addition of functionality was made (Version 1.20, or something like that) and still no payment. If the devs then completely rebuilt the software, or had a MAJOR MAJOR upgrade (brand spanking new functionality that really stood out) it would be Version 2.00 (and you'd have to BUY that one afresh). Very happy with that model. Could choose to keep on the version I was on, or upgrade. Don't see why there have to be tonnes of adverts either - why not have a trial software that runs out after, say, two weeks. After all, we're after time SAVING and EFFICIENCY and BETTER WORKFLOW, right?

As for Daniel's comment on Intent: most likely meaning - if you're really going to go for a God-Awful subscription model, then wouldn't it be wise to let people know what FUTURE functionality they're PAYING MONTHLY for would be? It's not really fair to ask for a subscription just to keep ads at bay. That reminds me of the days when shop owners paid THUGS for "protection" which basically translated to "If you DON'T pay us money WE will beat you and put you out of business". Not very ethical, is it?!
